I had a terrible service experience at the Irvine location. I brought in my 2009 Jeep Rubicon to evaluate emissions in preparation for a smog test, an oil and filter change and a few other minor issues (extra key, recall items, etc.). I was given an initial quote of $1000 for all the issues I requested to be evaluated which I felt was reasonable. My service adviser was Isidore Otero. He seemed nice when we first met, but was impossible to get on the phone afterwards. He never picks up his line. He offered a loaner when I dropped the car off since it would take a few days for all the repairs, which was nice. He contacted me a few times on the phone, after playing a lot of phone tag, to let me know what other repairs were needed. I agreed to some of the extra repairs but not all. ($2500 to replace a catalytic converter??). He gave me verbal quotes for the extra work which sounded like another $500, so I expected a final bill of around $1500. I was floored with a $2600 bill! They charged me $330 just to tell me it needed a new catalytic converter! They charged $370 for an extra key when I was quoted around $250! And they charged me $780 to replace one gasket for an incidental leak they found during their inspection! I've tried calling my service adviser to discuss the extra charges but he won't return any of my calls. Stay away from this place, or at least make sure you get everything in writing. Buyer beware, they're not honest!Anonymous
Disappointed

The level of service has dropped so low and the cost of maintenance is so high that I stopped having my warrantied Hyundai serviced by the Irvine group. Which is a double hit because the car I bought from them has had recall after recall. I don't feel good about my decision to purchase a Hyundai and I am extremely disappointed in the service I had received.
