That employees who provide information cannot be found later to verify is very important, yes. Here Ms. Ross tried to get information, someone named Lea should have helped her and apparently did not, and Ms. Ross has no way to trace who this employee was. She cannot prove anything. The employees of BCBS who do their jobs incorrectly or who do not do their jobs at all cannot be found, so BCBS can more easily deny wrong-doing. It's very important, when you have a problem with a company (especially when dealing with an issue as one's health) that you get the pertinent information as it will help force the company to do the right thing even if it is in their financial interest to do otherwise.
