I have the AARP MedicareRX Part D Plan for which I spend about $70.00 a month. I recently picked up my new prescription for Telsmisartan and paid Walgreens a $135 copay. CVS Pharmacy charge for the same prescription made by the same manufacturer, that has the same strength and quantity has a zero (0) copay with Welborn, Part D Plan that costs $15 a month. Walgreens said that AARP sets this price, not Walgreens or Medicare. I have checked around to other pharmacies to find their prices. Costco charges $29.00 for this prescription without a plan.
This will be the last time I will sign up for AARP Part D Medicare Plan. They are certainly not the honorable company that they portray themselves to be who look out for senior citizens.Anonymous

I have similar issues with not only the Rx plan, but also the way the Group F medical supplement plan went up in just 1 year. I joined Feb of last year and for the first time and this year the price went up twice for the medical. I take the least expensive plan for the Rx and am supposed to go through Walgreens. I'm finding that often it's cheaper if I don't use insurance and go someplace else on the rare times that I do need drugs. Is this just another hidden way AARP is making money off of us? I don't know. And I resent the "Free Gift" offer of the trunk grocery organizer when I got my last membership bill. Nothing is free. The handles broke the very first time I used it. Went right in the trash. Their marketing department should be called out on giving away junk.
