We'vei been with USAA for over 7 years, 8 accounts. At this time I am experiencing a problem and I cannot get anyone to help. I have spent over 5 hours on the phone and it has become very frustrating. When I call the representative cannot check with anyone or give me anyone else to follow thru with. One of the accounts has been having financial difficulties and has bounced many checks. A $1000 deposit, previously $10,000, was placed on ALL the accounts. ALL of us did NOT have this problem. I closed the account, and it was to be reviewed to return the deposit to $10,000. It has not been done and NO ONE will check with the "back office" to see what is going on. Im in Illinois the nearest place to deposit a check is Kansas.....
My family has 8 accounts with USAA, one has been having difficult times and had way too many bounced checks. So a hold of $1000 for deposits on ALL the accounts was placed. I was instructed to close the account, which I did. Then the hold would be reviewed to be taken off and the $10,000 deposit could be lifted. The hold has NOT been lifted. NO ONE will help when I call. The Customer Service is terrible. You can talk to the person who answers the phone, but there is no one else I or they can talk to.Anonymous

The exact same thing happened to us two years ago. In doing this, they committed numerous violations of the CFPB rules AFTER the CFBP had sued them and won! I just found fraudulent reports to my credit report by USAA so I am now going to sue them for everything--these account issues like yours, the fraudulent "cancellation" of our car insurance which was never cancelled unbeknownst to me, fraudulent withdrawal of that premium from my subscriber savings account for a product they never provided, fraudulent notifications that my life insurance policy was going to lapse for some unknown bill that was apparently due but even though all of my accounts showed zero due, and re-opening accounts that I closed just so they could add fees!!! This company is unbelievable anymore...and I have been a member since 1993!!!!
